It is difficult in life to stay centered when someone says or does something that tempts us to close our hearts because theirs was closed. We go through these circumstances in order to grow and evolve into the person that can hold their loving center no matter what detour the world sends.
I spent a few days in California recently and was able to take time to reflect on me. Early one morning as I was meditating, two words kept coming to mind, centered and grounded.
Centered is not a word I would use to describe my last 6 months. More fitting would be whirlwind, change and growth. Throughout the last 6 months I have been consistently searching for my center, but haven’t been able to find my solid ground.
To be centered means something different to all of us. Personally, I feel my absolute best when I am well rested, eating healthy, exercising and taking time for quiet meditation. That’s my picture perfect, controlled way to feel centered, but life happens and sometimes there isn’t time for it all.
What we do have though at all times is our breath and our center (soul). It is always there, even when we do not take the time to consciously notice. As we inhale and exhale, ebb and flow, the goal should be to take care of our inner self and make sure the soul is well fed.
Know that detours will keep coming, but tapping into our center will keep us grounded and our hearts open.
